What technical SEO covers
Content and backlinks get the attention, but they only work on a site that search engines can crawl, understand and load quickly. Technical SEO is that foundation:
- Crawling and indexing: robots rules, XML sitemaps, canonical URLs, noindex where it belongs, and Search Console errors resolved.
- Site structure: one page per search intent, clean URLs, internal links that pass authority to the pages that sell.
- Structured data: Organization, Service, Product, FAQ, Breadcrumb and Article schema, so results show rich information.
- Speed and Core Web Vitals: loading (LCP), responsiveness (INP) and layout stability (CLS) measured on real phones.
- Migrations: redirect maps that keep your rankings when URLs, platforms or domains change.
Speed optimisation that lasts
A plugin can raise a speed score for a week. Lasting speed comes from removing the causes:
- Measure with field data from Search Console and lab tests on a mid-range phone, not only a desktop score.
- Remove weight: unused scripts, oversized images, render-blocking fonts, third-party widgets loading on every page.
- Serve smarter: server cache, CDN, modern image formats like WebP, correct cache headers, compression.
- Fix layout shift: reserved space for images, banners and embeds so the page doesn't jump while loading.
- Re-measure after deployment and after 28 days of real-user data.
What is included
Problems found and fixed on real sites
A few examples of what technical SEO looks like in practice:
- Mysterious subdomains in Google. Dozens of unknown subdomains appeared in Search Console for a dealership site. The cause was a wildcard DNS record combined with certificate transparency logs exposing hostnames. The DNS was fixed and the duplicates removed from the index.
- Blog cannibalisation. AI-written articles on the same site targeted near-identical informational searches and competed with each other. The fix was a keyword plan with distinct topics and a shift toward commercial, bottom-of-funnel searches.
- Platform migration. Moving a site off WordPress, every old URL was extracted from the SEO plugin's redirect table and mapped to its new address before launch, so no rankings were lost.
How an audit is delivered
An audit is a prioritised list, not a 90-page export from a tool. Each issue comes with what it affects, how it gets fixed and how long the fix takes. You can take the list to any developer, or have the fixes implemented here at a fixed price. Most sites need a one-off fix round and then light monthly monitoring as part of a care plan.
